Description
Looking back down the Tuckerman Ravine trail towards the Hermit Lake shelter, a ray of sunlight shines down as if lighting the way. After a sunrise without any sun, this magical ray of light burst through the wind blown clouds to turn what might have been a wasted 2:30 a.m. hike into one of the most dramatic mornings I've been fortunate enough to witness. If there's one thing that can make a photographer forget just how cold their fingers and toes are, it's a light like this. To say, "you should have been there," is more than an understatement.
