Description
Mountain Light- early morning light illuminates the snow covered spruce trees at the base of Tuckerman Ravine.
We started our hike up to New Hampshire's Tuckerman Ravine at 3a.m., our goal was to capture the first rays of the rising sun illuminating the headwall of the ravine. Mother Nature had other plans for us. With temps hovering in the mid teens and 30-50mph winds creating near whiteout conditions, we took shelter as best we could in hopes the sun would break through the clouds. Finally, as we were stowing our camera gear back into our packs for the 4+ mile hike back to our cars, the sun decided to make an appearance in a most spectacular way.
