Description
The weather in New Hampshire's Tuckerman Ravine can be unpredictable and extreme. Having started out in Pinkham Notch at 2:30 a.m., the long hike in the dark was full of anticipation. Never knowing what the weather in the Ravine will be, regardless of what the forecast says, I'm prepared for whatever the mountains can throw at me. On this particular morning my partner and I had all but given up hope of seeing the sun and we were getting ready to pack up our gear and head back down, out of the frigid cold, high winds, and clouds, to our awaiting cars. As luck would have it the sun found an opening in the clouds and our numb toes and painfully cold fingers were all but forgotten.

Jeff Sinon replied:
This is one of my favorite places in the White Mountains. The weather almost always tries to kick my ass. Photographically speaking Ive come home with nothing almost as often as I get lucky, and yet I continue to return.
